Italian Baseball Series, Parma crushes San Marino to level the final

Parma Clima routs San Marino 15-8 in game two, tying the Italian Baseball Series finale at 1-1 ahead of game three in Serravalle.

Parma Clima has taken game two of the Italian Baseball Series, defeating San Marino 15-8 to level the final at 1-1. The decisive moment came in a nine-run fourth inning for the home side, which completely overturned a game that had, up to that point, been going the Titans’ way.

San Marino got off to a strong start with a home run from Rifaela in the first inning, but Parma answered immediately with a two-run homer of their own. The San Marino champions regained the lead in the third: Wong made it 2-2 with a double, and Lino sent the ball out of the park for a 4-2 advantage. In the fourth, Martini and Magnani combined to add another run, making it 5-2.

It was at 5-2 that everything changed. In the bottom of the fourth, Parma unleashed a nine-run rally, capitalising on base hits, walks and hit batters. The Ducali surged from 2-5 to 11-5, seizing control of the game.

Parma extended their lead to 12-5 in the fifth. San Marino tried to respond with a two-run double from Angulo, but the home side struck another heavy blow in the bottom of the sixth: a three-run home run pushed the score to 15-7.

In the eighth, base hits from Angulo and Rifaela produced San Marino’s final run, but it wasn’t enough to reopen the game. The final score: 15-8 for Parma.

The Italian Baseball Series finale is now level once again. On Monday, the series moves to Serravalle for game three.
