Folgore win by the narrowest of margins and leapfrog Faetano. In the final match of matchday five of the San Marino futsal championship, played last night at the Acquaviva gymnasium, a goal from Semproli in the opening minutes settled the contest. The 1-0 result lifts the yellow-red-and-black side into seventh place, with Faetano now sitting eighth.
It took just two minutes to break the deadlock. Captain Ercolani did everything down the left, shifted the ball and drove a powerful shot towards the far post. Semproli arrived on the line and guided the ball into the net.
Faetano stayed in the game, and the contest continued with chances at both ends. Before the break, the woodwork denied both sides: Bacciocchi for Folgore and Menghi for the blue-and-yellows both came close, but the score remained unchanged.
In the second half, Bucci had the chance to double the lead, but from close range he struck the crossbar of the goal defended by Rastelli. Faetano searched for an equaliser but could not find one. Folgore held firm until the final whistle and took home all three points.
