Federalberghi Rimini has taken legal action against two influencers, accused of spreading false content on social media with the aim of discrediting the Riviera. The hoteliers’ association announced it has filed, through its lawyers, two lawsuits.
At the heart of the matter are fake photographs, reels and photomontages which, according to Federalberghi, were allegedly used to gain views or even divert tourists towards other destinations. The association considers this conduct damaging to the city’s image and its tourism economy.
«It’s time for social networks to be used correctly and responsibly, without causing unjustified harm», says the president of Federalberghi Rimini, Patrizia Rinaldis, noting that the city is experiencing a season marked by strong tourist turnout and has recently been awarded the Blue Flag.
The association’s stance is firm: «Whoever spreads falsehoods will answer for it in the appropriate venues». Rinaldis calls for respect for Rimini, for those working in the tourism sector, and for the visitors who continue to choose the Riviera, also urging influencers and comedians not to resort to misleading content merely to gain clicks and visibility.
