Tre Fiori risk a major setback, while Fiorentino run riot. The two clubs from the castle of Fiorentino both celebrate on matchday five of the San Marino championship, but with two wins that could not have looked more different.
In Acquaviva, Tre Fiori edge past San Giovanni 1-0 in a match that proved far trickier than expected. The rossoneri hold their own against the reigning champions and come close to taking the lead in the first half, even hitting the crossbar through D’Orsi.
In the second half, the gialloblù step up the pressure but run into an inspired Casadei. The decisive moment comes in the 84th minute, when Van Nek turns the ball home from close range following a corner kick.
The win marks Tre Fiori’s return to form after their defeat to Virtus, while San Giovanni are left empty-handed despite a solid performance.
In Montecchio, meanwhile, Fiorentino stroll past Faetano, winning 6-0. Francesco Monaco’s side effectively settle the contest before half-time.
Costantini opens the scoring from the penalty spot in the 9th minute, Vicente doubles the lead, and Ledesma adds a spectacular goal from more than 40 metres out. Before the break, Vicente completes his brace to make it four.
The second half follows the same script. Cucchi nets the fifth goal, and Steger rounds off the rout by capitalising on a defensive error.
For Fiorentino, it’s a return to winning ways after three matches without a victory. For Faetano, however, it’s another bleak night — they remain bottom of the table and still without a win.
