From drama to music, from dance to the blending of different forms of live performance. The 2026/2027 season of San Marino Teatro opens on Thursday, October 22 and runs through April 4, for a total of twenty events spread across three programmes.
The main lineup features thirteen shows, divided among the Republic’s three theatres: eight at the Teatro Titano, three at the Teatro Nuovo and two at the Teatro Concordia, the latter outside the subscription package. All performances begin at 9pm.
Opening the season, on October 22 at the Teatro Titano, is Sara Jane Ghiotti with “Morning Evening”, a project built on original compositions inspired by the novel by Jon Fosse and accompanied by piano, double bass and drums: a work that spans the two extremes of human experience, birth and death.
On the names featured in the programme, the director of the Cultural Institutes Vito Testaj has no doubts: “There will certainly be no shortage of big names, from Ambra Angiolini to Stefano Massini, all the way to Nicolò Govoni.”
Alongside the main programme, the two segments closest to the Cultural Institutes’ heart make their return. “1, 2, 3… scena!” offers three shows for children and families at the Teatro Concordia. “A doppio filo”, once again hosted by Fabrizio Coniglio, brings four conversations with as many performers who will share their own creative journeys: Vladimir Luxuria, Marina Massironi, Greg and Michela Andreozzi.
Speaking on the purpose behind the initiative, the Secretary of State for Education and Culture, University and Scientific Research, and Youth Policies, Teodoro Lonfernini, said: “The element we are working around, from a political standpoint, is solely that of creating a theatrical community for our community — of citizens, of interested people, who through theatre and its many expressions can truly feel themselves to be a living, fully engaged part of that community.”
