A match between veterans and fans to raise funds in support of children. On Friday, September 25 at 9:15 pm, at the Ezio Conti stadium in Dogana, ASCO 35 and Brigata Mai 1 Gioia will face off in the charity initiative “ASCO 35 & Brigata for children”. Admission will be free, and voluntary donations will be collected throughout the evening. According to the organizers, the entire proceeds will be donated by ASCO 35 to the association San Marino for the Children.
On the field, on one side, will be former footballers and passionate veterans united under ASCO 35, an association that organizes sporting events in support of humanitarian projects. On the other side will be Brigata Mai 1 Gioia, the group of Sammarinese national team supporters founded in 2012. Its team will include fans from San Marino and Italy, as well as supporters from Austria, Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands. Guests from Sammarinese football and futsal are also expected to attend. Giorgio Leoni, former head coach of the national team, will be present as honorary coach of the Brigata.
The match will be played in two 30-minute halves. “ASCO 35 and Brigata Mai 1 Gioia,” the organizers explain in their statement, “are two groups that have long been committed to solidarity and children’s causes, and we are especially pleased to join forces in an event with a simple yet important goal: doing good while having fun together.”
For the Brigata’s supporters, they add, it will be a chance to “take to the field and play alongside, and against, some of the great former stars of the national team and the Sammarinese league.” The organizers thank the San Marino Football Federation for providing facilities, equipment, and logistical support.
The Dogana event comes a day before San Marino-Finland, the Nations League match scheduled for Saturday, September 26 at 6 pm at the San Marino Stadium in Serravalle.
