A new agreement between the Republic of San Marino and the Marche Region aims to strengthen cooperation on wildlife management and hunting activities. This was the focus of an institutional meeting held at the Marche Region headquarters between Secretary of State for Territory and Environment Matteo Ciacci and regional councillor Giacomo Bugaro, who oversees wildlife and hunting policy.
At the heart of the discussions is the drafting of a new protocol intended to replace the 2005 agreement with the Province of Pesaro and Urbino. “The new protocol will expand and provide a more structured framework for cooperation between the two territories, with particular reference to the management and monitoring of wildlife, the practice of hunting, training, and administrative, technical and scientific cooperation,” the statement reads, based on a principle of reciprocity between the two areas.
One aspect of the agreement directly concerns San Marino citizens who hunt in the Marche region. The protocol aims to strengthen coordination between the two administrations and streamline related procedures. According to the statement, the agreement will make it possible to “simplify and improve the efficiency of the procedures governing hunting activities carried out by San Marino citizens in the Marche territory, including the annual management of hunting licences.”
The meeting marked a further step toward finalising the new protocol and allowed the two administrations to explore issues of shared interest in greater depth. “The meeting represented a further step in the process of defining the new protocol and allowed for a deeper examination of matters of common interest,” the statement concludes, “confirming the intention to continue institutional dialogue and cooperation between the Republic of San Marino and the Marche Region.”
