Pramac looks to the future, De Angelis pushes for Ferrandez renewal

Team manager Alex De Angelis praises the 18-year-old's rapid rise and hints the squad wants to continue together next season.

Pramac is already looking ahead to next season, and among its priorities is confirming Ferrandez for another year. Team manager Alex De Angelis praises the progress made by the 18-year-old, who is in his first World Championship campaign after jumping straight from the Spanish championship, and hints at the team’s desire to continue working together.

«Ferrandez is doing very, very well. He’s 18 years old, really very young, and he hasn’t followed the standard path that everyone else takes through Moto3. He came from the Spanish championship and then moved straight into the World Championship, so there are a huge number of tracks he doesn’t know», De Angelis points out.

This is an aspect that makes the assessment of the rider even more positive and, according to the former San Marino rider, suggests plenty of room for growth ahead of a possible contract renewal. «I can tell you this as a former rider, it makes a real difference. In your second year, when you go back to a track you learned the year before, you can definitely go much, much faster. We’re very happy with him and we believe in him».

Meanwhile, Pramac also remains focused on the fight for the top spot with Izan Guevara, currently second in the championship. «We’re having a truly excellent season. Guevara is in superb form, our team is working really well, and we hope to keep closing the gap on González so we can fight it out at the end».

To achieve that, above all, the team will need to solve the front-end chattering problem that has been affecting the bike. «We’re really giving our all to find some kind of technical solution. If we manage to fix this bouncing of the front tyre, we could really start thinking big».
