Three days of political debate, music, entertainment and food await Serravalle for the 53rd Festa dell’Amicizia. From Friday 21 to Sunday 23 August, Piazza Bertoldi will host the historic event organised by San Marino’s Christian Democratic Party (Democrazia Cristiana sammarinese), which this year will focus political discussion mainly on the association agreement with the European Union, economic prospects and healthcare.
“We have reached the 53rd edition of the Festa dell’Amicizia, an event that has accompanied the history of the Christian Democratic Party for over half a century and represents an important moment of encounter with our members, supporters and the wider community,” reads the statement from the PDCS.
“The festival is first and foremost an occasion to be together, to reconnect and to spend three evenings in a spirit of friendship and sharing,” explains political secretary Gian Carlo Venturini, “but it is also a moment to pause and reflect on the present and, above all, on the choices that lie ahead for the country in the coming years.”
The political programme will open on Friday 21 August at 9:15pm, on the Terrazza Ex-Ritrovo, with the discussion “San Marino after signing the agreement with the European Union”. Taking part in the debate will be Foreign Affairs Secretary of State Luca Beccari, Gian Nicola Berti of AR, Michele Muratori of Libera, Matteo Rossi of the PSD, Andrea Menicucci of RF, ANIS Secretary General William Vagnini and USL Secretary General Francesca Busignani. The discussion will be moderated by David Oddone.
On Saturday 22 August, also at 9:15pm, the focus shifts to healthcare with the debate “A stronger healthcare system for a safer community”. Speakers will include Health Secretary of State Massimo Andrea Ugolini, Manuel Ciavatta of the PDCS, Denise Bronzetti of AR, Fabio Righi of Domani Motus Liberi, and the secretaries general of CDLS and CsDL, Milena Frulli and Enzo Merlini. David Oddone will once again moderate.
The political segment of the event will close on Sunday 23 August at 8:30pm, when Gian Carlo Venturini will deliver the political summary of the three-day gathering in Piazza Bertoldi.
“The Festa dell’Amicizia is also a powerful moment of identity, showing how deeply our party and the values it embodies are rooted in our country. Through occasions like this,” Venturini continues, “we express our way of doing politics: listening to citizens and committing to serve the community with responsibility and a sense of duty to the State.”
Alongside the debates, the traditional entertainment programme will also take place. On Friday at 6:30pm, a mass will be celebrated in Serravalle’s parish church in memory of departed friends. Dinner in Piazza Bertoldi will follow at 7:15pm, while from 8:30pm attendees can enjoy an aerial dance performance by Virginia Martelli, a session with dialect poet Checco Guidi, and a performance by the orchestra La Nuova Romagna Folk.
On Saturday evening, the spotlight will be on the dancers of Sirene Danzanti di Mirco e Sandra and the orchestras Mirco Gramellini & David Pacini. On Sunday, it will be the turn of the Rimini Dance Company and the Omar Codazzi orchestra.
A dedicated programme has also been planned for younger visitors at Parco Dante Alighieri, the former Orti Masi: the Revolution Live Band will perform on Friday, while Saturday and Sunday from 8pm will feature the Live Festival with bands and solo singers.
Throughout the three days, visitors can also enjoy food and craft stalls, a wheel of fortune, and inflatable games for children. The event will close on Sunday evening with the drawing of the 2026 Lotteria dell’Amicizia, offering 3,500 euros and other prizes.
