Tax returns: CSU says paperwork for taxpayers owed a refund will be returned from September

Priority in these weeks goes to taxpayers who owe money. The Centrale Sindacale Unitaria assures that all returns will be completed and sent to the Tax Office by 31 August

Work continues at CSU Servizi on preparing and delivering income tax returns in San Marino. In these final weeks of August, priority is being given to taxpayers who owe money, while for those due a refund, the return of paperwork will be completed starting in September.

The Centrale Sindacale Unitaria (CSU) explained the timeline, recalling that this year the IT system required to manage tax returns became operational about a month late — a delay that prompted the Government to extend the filing deadline to 31 August.

CSU Servizi staff are therefore still working on completing part of the paperwork. However, the union reassures users that all returns will be finalised and submitted electronically to the Tax Office (Ufficio Tributario) by 31 August, in line with the new deadline.

At this stage, taxpayers who owe money are being contacted first, since they need to make the corresponding payment by the end of the month.

For those whose returns show a credit, there is no payment deadline to worry about: the CSU confirms that the return of these files will continue and be completed from September onwards.
