European Athletics Championships: solid showing from Alessandra Gasparelli in Birmingham

San Marino sprinter clocks 11”60 in the 100m at the European Athletics Championships, gaining valuable experience ahead of the Mediterranean Games in Taranto.

A solid performance from Alessandra Gasparelli at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.

The San Marino sprinter ran the 100 metres in 11”60, a strong result in a competition of the highest international standard. The time, however, was not enough to see her through to the next round: her rivals clocked slightly better times, by just a few tenths of a second.

It nonetheless remains a positive outing for Alessandra, who had the chance to measure herself against some of the best sprinters on the European and international stage, gaining valuable experience in one of athletics’ most prestigious competitions.

The performance in Birmingham confirms the good form of the young athlete from San Marino and the value of the work carried out with her coach Dan Mitica, ahead of her next major appointment: the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, scheduled for the end of August.

This is a particularly important event for San Marino athletics and for the entire San Marino delegation, called upon once again to compete at the highest level and to proudly carry the white and blue colours.

Congratulations to Alessandra and her coach Dan Mitica for this important international experience!
