Dramatic scenes unfolded late this morning in Cailungo, where a three-year-old child nearly drowned in the swimming pool at the Centro Vacanze San Marino.
The alarm was raised between 11am and 11:30am. The child, who was at the facility with his family, got into difficulty in the water for reasons still to be determined. By the time emergency medical teams (118) arrived, he was in cardiac arrest.
Paramedics intervened immediately and managed to resuscitate him. Once stabilized, the child was taken by ambulance to the Infermi Hospital in Rimini, where he remains hospitalized in intensive care.
Investigations are underway to reconstruct exactly what happened and clarify the circumstances of the incident.
