These are days of anguish in the hills of Mulazzano, where all trace has been lost of Gian Gavino Chessa, a 56-year-old of Sardinian origin who works as an employee on a local farm. Nothing has been heard from the man since last Thursday.
The missing persons report was filed on Tuesday with the Carabinieri of Coriano. After the involvement of the Prefecture of Rimini, a large-scale operation was launched on Wednesday afternoon to try to locate the farmworker.
A coordination centre has been set up right in Mulazzano. Firefighters, Carabinieri, Alpine Rescue teams and Civil Protection volunteers with canine units are all engaged on the ground, combing the inland areas.
Searches are also being carried out from the air, with fire brigade drones flying over the hills in an effort to pick up any trace of the missing 56-year-old.
