San Marino is once again confronting the issue of gender-based violence. Updated data on cases recorded in the Republic will be at the center of a joint sitting of two council committees, convened for Monday, 21 September, at the Kursaal Congress Centre.
The session is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be open to the public. The meeting was called, at the request of the respective chairs Michele Muratori and Denise Bronzetti, by the Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Immigration, Security and Public Order, and Information Committee together with the Health and Hygiene, Social Security and Welfare, Social Policy, Sport, Territory, Environment and Agriculture Committee.
The centerpiece of the morning will be the State Congress’s report on updated data concerning gender-based violence. These figures, which will provide a clear picture of the situation on Titano, are being brought before the committees following a specific political request.
The step had in fact been mandated by a motion approved by the Grand and General Council (Consiglio Grande e Generale) on 21 July 2026. Following the opening remarks, the Government will report on the current situation and present the latest available data.
Council members who do not sit on either of the two committees will also be able to take part in the session. It thus promises to be a broad-based discussion on an issue once again on San Marino’s institutional agenda, with the primary aim of updating the overall picture of how widespread the phenomenon remains.
