Aeffe is reported to have requested joint talks with unions to launch a special redundancy fund (cassa integrazione straordinaria) covering 389 employees, split between its production site in San Giovanni in Marignano and its Milan office.
The move follows objections from the CGIL union over the company’s use of the ordinary layoff scheme, which had concentrated work suspensions on Fridays.
The group, which owns the Alberta Ferretti, Pollini and Moschino brands, has been grappling with a labour dispute for months: the workforce reduction plan originally called for 221 job cuts overall, including dismissal procedures for 120 employees.
Meanwhile, Oxy Capital has submitted a binding offer worth €115 million to acquire Aeffe and Pollini’s Italian operations through three newly created companies.
Following the conclusion of the negotiated crisis settlement procedure, Aeffe and Pollini filed a preliminary petition with the Bologna court on 9 October for a restructuring plan subject to court approval.
The companies have requested 60 days to present the plan, along with four months of asset protection. Their requests also include the sale of business units prior to court approval and a €7 million bridge loan.
