Cailungo, illegal shed containing asbestos demolished near car wash

The illegal shed near the car wash in Cailungo has been cleared and demolished. The structure, which had stood for years, contained asbestos. The operation allowed the hazardous material to be removed and safely disposed of before the building itself was dismantled.

The process was initiated by the Secretariat of State for Territory and Environment and UPAV (the Single Office for Environmental Planning), which sent a formal notice to the property owner. The private citizen cooperated fully, and the operation was completed without any disputes.

«It was a situation that had been left open for far too long», said Secretary of State Matteo Ciacci. «We closed it by working together — the Secretariat, UPAV and the private owner. This is the approach we want to follow for other cases of neglect and decay across the territory».

The removal of the shed eliminates an illegal structure in a busy area of Cailungo, following the successful clearance of the asbestos found inside it.
