Twice down by two goals, Tre Penne turn the match around to beat Libertas 6-3. Last night, on the court at Acquaviva, the blue-and-whites secured their first win of the San Marino Futsal Championship, handing the maroons their first defeat of the season in the competition.
The fifth-round match opened with Libertas ahead thanks to goals from Moretti and Elia Michelotti. Tre Penne struggled early on but managed to pull one back before the break, with Gamba scoring to make it 2-1 and keeping Federico Muccioli’s side in the game.
After the interval, Paesini restored Libertas’s two-goal lead. Leading Tre Penne’s response was captain Zandoli, who scored twice to level the score. The 3-3 equalizer came in the 39th minute from the penalty spot, after a foul by Riccardo Michelotti on Cola.
The penalty proved to be the turning point. The blue-and-whites found room to complete the comeback, with Cola scoring twice to put Tre Penne ahead 5-3.
Libertas gambled on their last chance, bringing on Nigro as an outfield goalkeeper to attack with a numerical advantage. However, on a sideways pass intended for the goalkeeper, Gamba intercepted the ball and slotted it into the empty net. His second goal of the night sealed the match at 6-3, with three Tre Penne players scoring braces: Gamba, Zandoli, and Cola.
The next fixture is tonight at 10 p.m. at the Multieventi Sports Dome, where Domagnano and San Giovanni will face off.
