Pope Leo XIV’s lung surgery has been successful, following an operation performed this afternoon at Rome’s Gemelli Polyclinic. The Pontiff has already returned to his room.
The Vatican press office reported that the procedure “was completed successfully, within the expected time frame and as planned, and the Holy Father has returned to his room. Further updates will follow.”
The operation was carried out to remove a nodule on the lung, which was discovered during a routine check-up.
