Bartolucci to stand trial over threats against Manuela Bianchi: first hearing set for 1 February

A Rimini judge has ordered trial for aggravated threats, while dropping a defamation charge and sending an assault claim to a justice of the peace.

Valeria Bartolucci will stand trial for aggravated threats against Manuela Bianchi. A judge at the Rimini court ruled this morning, setting the first hearing of the ordinary trial for 1 February 2027. The case stems from Bartolucci’s discovery of the extramarital affair between her husband, Louis Dassilva, and Bianchi. The murder of Pierina Paganelli remains the backdrop to the affair.

Bartolucci faced three separate charges, each with a different outcome. While the aggravated threats charge is going to trial, the accusation of assault – relating to an incident involving hair-pulling – will be handled by a justice of the peace.

As for the charge of aggravated defamation, the judge ruled for a dismissal, since the complaint had been filed after the statutory deadline.

The charge of stalking had already been dropped around a year ago by the preliminary investigations judge, due to a lack of evidence needed to substantiate the offence.
