Elisa Pellegrini has completed her first-ever half marathon. On Sunday, October 11, at the Pisa Half Marathon, the San Marino Athletics Academy athlete covered the 21-kilometer distance in 1 hour, 47 minutes and 14 seconds, following a brief stop in the final stretch.
Pellegrini kept a steady pace until the 17th kilometer, when a lack of fluids forced her to pause. She resumed and crossed the finish line: “I’m thrilled with this achievement, reached after just five months of training.”
Her teammates Melissa Michelotti and Martina Tomassini instead took part in the San Pancrazio 21km, both finishing in around 1 hour 35-36 minutes. For both athletes, the race served as preparation for their upcoming November events.
Coach Gianluigi Macina expressed his satisfaction: “The athletes are preparing well for the important appointments in November. Melissa will make her marathon debut in Florence, while Martina will run her first half marathon in Ravenna.”
