The State Congress has expressed its closeness to the young people involved in the serious road accident that occurred on Saturday evening in Fiorina, as well as to their families. In a statement released on 12 October, the San Marino government addressed the condition of the young victims and announced that assessments regarding the running of Rallylegend and the safety measures in place will be addressed in a subsequent meeting with the parties involved.
“The State Congress is following with deep concern the condition of the young people involved in the extremely serious road accident that occurred on Saturday evening in Fiorina, and wishes to express its most sincere closeness and solidarity with their families, who are living through hours of great anguish,” the statement reads. “At such a delicate moment, the thoughts of the institutions turn first and foremost to the young people and their loved ones, in the hope that they can overcome this dramatic situation.”
The statement also includes thanks to those who contributed to managing security during the event: “The State Congress also wishes to extend sincere thanks to the Police Forces, Civil Protection, the organisers, the volunteers and all those who, through months of intense preparation and coordination beforehand, contributed to managing security during Rallylegend.”
An overall assessment of the event has been postponed to a later meeting. “Any overall assessment of how the event unfolded and of the measures adopted will be the subject of a subsequent discussion with all parties involved, in the knowledge that protecting people’s lives and safety must always be the absolute priority,” the State Congress concludes.
