Sammarino futsal: Pennarossa and Murata defend top spot as matchday five kicks off

The San Marino Futsal Championship resumes with matchday five, and two teams still boast a perfect record: Pennarossa and Murata, both coming off four consecutive victories.

The league leaders will also try to extend their advantage over Cosmos, who will sit out this round on a bye.

Action gets underway on Monday at 8:15pm in Fiorentino, where the hosts take on Pennarossa. The white-and-reds, who boast the tournament’s best defence with just three goals conceded, are chasing a fifth straight win.

At 9pm, on the away ground in Acquaviva, Cailungo face La Fiorita. The red-and-greens need to bounce back from two consecutive defeats, while the yellow-and-blues are looking to stay in touch with the top of the table. La Fiorita will have to do without the suspended Thomas Pellegrini.

At 9:45pm, in Fiorentino, Juvenes Dogana and Virtus, both level on four points, will look to get back on track after heavy defeats in the last round.

At 10pm, at the Multieventi, it’s Murata’s turn to face Tre Fiori. The black-and-whites aim to hold on to top spot against a side still without a win this season.

On Tuesday at 10pm, at the Acquaviva gym, Libertas take on Tre Penne. The maroons arrive on the back of two straight wins, while Federico Muccioli’s side are still searching for their first points of the season.

On Wednesday at 10pm, at the Multieventi, Domagnano host San Giovanni. The Wolves found their way back to winning ways in the last round, while San Giovanni remain stuck on zero points.

The round closes on Thursday at 10pm, at the Acquaviva gym, with Faetano facing Folgore. The side from Falciano, on three points, will look to make up ground in the standings.
