CONS literary and journalistic competition: final hours to enter

Entries for the fourth edition of the National Olympic Committee's writing contest close at noon on Monday, August 31.

Entries close on Monday, August 31 at 12 noon for the fourth edition of the Literary and Journalistic Competition promoted by the San Marino National Olympic Committee (CONS). There are just a few hours left to put an idea into words, turn imagination into a story, and submit an entry on the theme “A fantasy sports story set in San Marino”.

The competition, backed by the State Secretariats for Sport and for Education, is open to participants from any country and was created with the aim of promoting and celebrating Sammarinese sport through creativity, writing and different forms of storytelling.

In these final hours, entrants can still develop their piece by choosing from three possible themes: a sports story set in the Republic of San Marino; the tale of one or more Sammarinese athletes, real or imagined, at the Winter Olympics; or the participation of one or more Sammarinese athletes, real or imagined, at the Mediterranean Games.

The initiative is divided into several categories aimed at both adults and students. In addition to the categories reserved for students of the Scuola Superiore (upper secondary school) and the Vocational Training Centre, this fourth edition also introduces a new category for students of the Scuola Media (lower secondary school) in the Republic of San Marino, as well as for Sammarinese students attending lower secondary schools abroad.

There is broad freedom in choosing the format: written, journalistic, graphic and audiovisual works are all accepted, in line with the guidelines set out in the official call for entries. Participants can submit short stories, poems, novellas, historical-literary studies, articles for print or the web, radio and television productions, drawings, graphic works and audio-video content.

For those who still have an idea waiting to be written, time has not quite run out: the remaining hours of today and tomorrow morning offer one last chance to turn it into an entry and take part in the competition. Submissions must be received by 12 noon on Monday, August 31, 2026.

The award ceremony will take place on Sunday, September 21, 2026 at 6 p.m., as part of Sport in Fiera.

The full call for entries, with all details on how to take part and submit work, is available on the website of the San Marino National Olympic Committee.
