Public sector pay rise for 4,000 workers: +3% in 2025 and +2% in 2026

Bridge agreement reached for San Marino's civil servants and Aaslp workers ahead of full contract renewal

A 3% increase for 2025, a 2% advance for 2026, and around 4,000 workers affected. These are the figures behind the bridge agreement reached for San Marino’s public sector and Aaslp wage earners.

The deal comes after the previous contract expired on 31 December 2024, and marks the first step towards a full renewal. The percentages also apply to the roughly 200 wage earners at the Public Works Authority (Azienda Autonoma di Stato per i Lavori Pubblici, AASLP).

The impact on pay packets will vary depending on job grade. A simulation for a sixth-level employee, with a 2024 base salary of €2,018, brings the amount to around €2,120 per month after the increases — a difference of about €102 in the specific example used.

What remains is the formal acknowledgement by the Grand and General Council (Consiglio Grande e Generale), expected in September. If the timeline holds, the raises and back pay could be paid out with the October payslip.

Once the bridge agreement is finalised, negotiations will move on to the actual contract renewal, which is expected to run for three or four years, expiring in 2027 or 2028.
