A 48-year-old man residing in the Republic of San Marino has been jailed on charges of stalking his partner. Carabinieri from Rimini carried out a pre-trial detention order against him, signed by preliminary investigations judge Andrea Falaschetti, at the conclusion of an inquiry coordinated by prosecutor Luca Bertuzzi.
According to investigators, reconstructing events on the basis of the woman’s complaint, the obsessive behaviour reportedly began in 2022, gradually growing more severe over time. The man is also said to have targeted his partner’s son, some of her work colleagues and her friends.
The situation is said to have escalated sharply in recent months. Among the threats attributed to the 48-year-old were particularly disturbing statements, including «I’ll kill you all, come on, let’s settle this with guns». At that point, last July, the woman reportedly decided to go to the carabinieri and report what was happening.
Investigations also revealed that the 48-year-old had previously been reported by his ex-wife for similar behaviour. The man has also been convicted in the past for aggravated assault, resisting arrest and illegal possession of weapons.
At the conclusion of the investigation, the judge ordered pre-trial detention, which was carried out by the Rimini carabinieri.
