San Marino has extended by another month its measures to counter high fuel prices. The Congress of State has decided to keep the extraordinary measures in place until 30 September 2026, in light of international tensions and the uncertainty still affecting energy markets.
The measure confirms the reduction of the special tax on the import of petroleum products and the discounts granted to consumers through the SMaC Card. The reduced rate for agricultural diesel also remains unchanged.
The extension aims to limit the impact of price increases on households, businesses and economic activities, at a time marked by renewed volatility in energy and fuel prices.
The measures remain temporary in nature: from 1 October 2026, barring any further extension, a return to standard tax rates is expected.
