Starting October 26, residents will be able to link their household utility accounts to their SMaC Card in order to benefit from tax deductions for IGR purposes. The application must be submitted via self-certification by January 31, 2027.
The procedure, launched by A.A.S.S. and Poste San Marino, can be completed either through the A.A.S.S. billing portal or in person at post office counters.
The deduction applies exclusively to utilities connected to the taxpayer’s officially registered residence or, failing that, their actual place of residence.
Those who choose to visit a counter in person will need to bring their water, electricity and gas bills for the utilities they wish to link, along with their A.A.S.S. customer code and the PDE/PDR identification codes for each contract.
For those opting for the online procedure, A.A.S.S. has prepared a video tutorial and an operating manual, available through its information channels and social media.
For deductions relating to 2026, only bills actually paid during the year will count. The amounts recorded, broken down by service, will be viewable on the SMaC portal from February 28, 2027.
For assistance, residents can call the SMaC service helpline at 800 220808, visit post office counters, or call A.A.S.S. at 0549 883700.
