Sara Jane Ghiotti debuts “Morning Evening” at Teatro Titano

Nine tracks on birth and death open San Marino Teatro’s new season, inspired by Jon Fosse’s novel “Morning and Evening.”

Nine tracks exploring the themes of birth and death, performed live ahead of their official release. Sara Jane Ghiotti brings “Morning Evening” to Teatro Titano on Thursday, October 22 at 9 p.m., opening the new season of San Marino Teatro.

The Sammarinese jazz singer, composer and arranger, winner of the 2023 Premio Ciampi, draws loose inspiration from the novel “Morgon og kveld” by Norwegian writer Jon Fosse.

The work grew out of a series of artistic residencies and unfolds in two chapters. “Morning” tells the story of birth, with its energy and the sense of detachment that opens the way to existence. “Evening,” by contrast, explores a gradual dissolving, through an interplay of voice, musical composition and improvisation.

Joining Ghiotti on stage will be Simone Migani on piano, Mauro Mussoni on double bass and Manuel Giovannetti on drums. Migani and Mussoni also co-wrote part of the compositions.

Tickets are available on the San Marino Teatro website or at the Teatro Titano box office, which opens four hours before the performance.
